Supply only engines are sold as bare units without any ancillaries.

We carry out the following work to the engine

• Strip, clean and examine all parts

• All seals and gaskets are replaced

• The head is rebuilt with new exhaust valves

• New stem seals

• The block is cleaned then painted, inspected for wear and honed

• Pistons are cleaned, inspected and new rings fitted

• New con rod bearings

• New crank shaft bearings

• New oil pump assembly kit

• New timing chain and tensioner kit

12 months/12,000 miles warranty

If we are supplying the engine unit only it will be supplied on an exchange basis for your serviceable unit and supply will be subject to a £200 surcharge refunded once we have your old unit.

It is the buyers responsibility to make arrangements to deliver the old engine to our premises. Collection can be arranged by us for an additional fee (contact us for pricing).

Running in of your new smart car engine
We ask that for the initial 500 miles you do not use excessive engine speed (keep to less than 4000 revs) and don’t labour in any gear at low revs.

On fitting the engine to the smart and before you start for the first time ensure:

• The coolant has been added in the correct mix

• The recommended engine oil (Mobile1) has been added to the correct level

• The gearbox oil level has been checked and topped up as required.

• The coolant has been bled correctly, this should be carried out by a competent mechanic

We also offer a fixed price rebuild of your engine, which consists of

 

 

Removing the engine from your car and stripping down to component parts, cleaning, painting the block and head with HR paint, checking and measuring of components, cylinders honed (this is vital), new piston rings in all cases, new exhaust valves, new big-end shell bearings, new big-end bolts, new head gasket, new head bolts, new timing chain and tensioner and all that is required to return your engine to full health.

The engine is carefully reassembled using new fasteners, gaskets and seals, new oil and oil filter. The engine is then refitted into your car and road tested.
